Big Data Handling

Projects

CTD data curator for the German Marine Research Alliance (DAM) in the DAM Underway Project. In that function I try to standardize the measurement and data handling of CTD data. Especially by writing generalised software packages. Additionally, I publish CTD data sets of cruises on the German research vessels, Meteor, Merian and Sonne, to PANGAEA.

Software

CTD-Client

GUI program to measure and process CTD data.

ctdam

Toolkit for conversion, processing, plotting and export of (Sea-Bird) ctd data.

Theses

New GUI for ship-based CTD measurement software 'CTD-Client'

Crawler for sensor metadata in the IOWDB

GUI software for drag&drop-like editing of processing workflows

Quality control with an existing flow meter on CTD systems

Your own ideas in the areas of data processing, machine learning, visualization or automatisation of big data handling
