Publications

All of the IOW's publications (sorted by publication type) have been recorded in the institute's own research information system (KLAUSI) since 1994. An exception to this are data publications, which have not yet been fully recorded in KLAUSI and are therefore not included here.

The researchers at the IOW publish their research findings predominantly in international peer-reviewed journals. In recent years, the proportion of open access publications has increased significantly to over 80%. This means that anyone interested (including the public sector) can download these publications free of charge.

You can find the publication lists, sorted by year and publication type, here.

The IOW has been publishing the "Marine Science Reports" since 1990. The issues appear at irregular intervals and are numbered consecutively. The reports primarily feature status reports on the Baltic Sea as well as historical articles on the history of the IOW and its research vessels.

You can access the publications of the Marine Science Reports here.

The current volume is
